Molin Concrete Products’ scope of work included engineering, production, and installation of structural and architectural precast and prestressed concrete products which included; 161,000 square feet of hollow core and solid slabs, 145-precast columns, 263-prestressed beams and 12,000 square feet of structural precast wall panels with a cast-in form-liner pattern for this six-story mixed-use luxury apartment and retail development in Edina, MN. The Onyx project is situated on an expansive 4.6-acre landscape located between York and Xerxes Avenues in Edina, MN. Onyx is the epitome of refined living offering a collection of exquisite homes, from studios to three bedrooms, Onyx is located in one of the most dynamic suburban locations in the Twin Cities in terms of demographics, economics, and livability for multifamily housing. The project features 10,000 square feet of retail space with 133 retail parking stalls, 240 residential units with 394 residential parking stalls, and totals over 450,000 square feet of floor space. Molin began delivering and installing precast components in November 2015 and precast installation continued through the harsh Minnesota winter. First move-ins began on December 2, 2016. The Grand Opening in July 2017 symbolized the completion of the development phase and the availability of all apartment homes.
